Khao Phansaa (เข้าพรรษา), the Buddhist festival of Lent. It's a time of serious devotional practices in Thailand, and partying is taken very seriously too. The trolley is drawn manually down the street bit by bit over several hours to the temple. It's about 2 o'clock in the afternoon here in Pranburi. The band is rocking big time.
Over Khao Phansaa processions like this are taking place all over Thailand in small villages, towns and cities large and small. It is common to make vows not to drink for three months after Khao Phansaa.
The drummer is set up on the trolley right over a big generator and the speakers are pumping some serious decibels. Right in front of the trolley is the beer wagon.
